ArtsEdSEL equips arts educators and educational leaders with practices designed to activate the SEL competencies of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making to enrich scholastic arts education environments.
Objectives:
- Develop a Practice Advisory Board in all arts content areas
- Develop professional learning materials and opportunities to address artistic implementation of SEL, including practices that are grounded in culturally-responsive and sustaining practices
- Identify and provide targeted experiences for pilot programs in PreK-16 arts classrooms representing diverse populations and demographics
- Develop and provide a comprehensive compendium of artistic SEL resources
- Collaborate with performing arts organizations/presenters and teaching artists to integrate SEL into their presentations and works
