ArtsEdSEL promotes empirically-grounded insight that builds capacity for high-quality PreK-16 arts education, informed by culturally-responsive and sustaining practices by establishing and enacting a research agenda for arts education and social emotional learning.
Objectives:
- Establish a Research Advisory Board representative of all arts content areas
- Develop and enact a robust research agenda, including research into how culturally-responsive and sustaining practices intersect with SEL skills development in the arts and how systematic integration of SEL into arts education improves arts outcomes
- Curate a compendium of existing artistic SEL research
- Translate extant SEL research for arts education/educators
